Frontend Engineer, AI Apps
Full-time
Remote
JavaScript / PWA
Apply
You build the small AI apps themselves — installable, offline-capable PWAs that run on the PortModels model API and ship into the gallery. Idea on Monday, something people can open by Friday.
What you will do
- Build and ship small AI apps as progressive web apps — installable, fast on a mid-range phone, usable on a bad connection
- Wire them to the PortModels model API and Connect with PortModels sign-in, including metering and per-run pricing
- Use AI coding tools to move quickly, and review what they produce like you would a junior engineer
- Turn a rough brief — often straight off the app requests board — into a working product
- Own what you ship after launch: bugs, ratings, comments, and the next version
What we are looking for
- Strong modern JavaScript or TypeScript, and real product sense in the browser
- Genuine PWA experience: service workers, manifests, caching strategies, install prompts, offline state
- You have worked against an LLM API — streaming, token costs, retries, and what to do when a model returns nonsense
- You use AI assistants daily and are honest about where they help and where they do not
- Things you have shipped that we can open and use
Marketplace Quality Lead
Full-time
Remote
Review & ops
Apply
You own the review queue and the quality bar of the gallery. Every app that reaches a user went past you first, and the reason people trust a marketplace of small apps is that someone did this job properly.
What you will do
- Review every submitted app against the publishing rules — does it work, does it match its listing, is the pricing honest
- Test submissions end to end on real accounts before they go live, on desktop and on a phone
- Write approve or reject decisions a developer can act on, in plain language, without a back-and-forth
- Watch listings after launch: ratings, comments, refund requests, abuse reports, and apps that quietly break
- Keep the publishing guidelines current as new cases come up, and flag the patterns worth fixing in the product
- Curate what the gallery leads with, so the front page reflects the best of what is there
What we are looking for
- Detail obsession — you notice the broken state nobody else clicked into
- Clear written English; most of this job is explaining a decision
- Judgment where the rules do not cover the case, and the spine to say no and stand behind it
- Experience in app review, marketplace operations, trust and safety, or QA
- Comfortable running a queue on your own and reporting what it is telling you
Growth Lead, Community & Platform Presence

Growth
Apply
PortModels is explained best by showing what people build on it. This role turns the gallery into a weekly publishing engine and puts PortModels in front of the people who would use it.
The specific idea: every week you pick real apps from the gallery and turn them into public material — a build story, a sixty-second demo, a teardown of what an app costs to run and what its developer earns — and you publish it where builders and early adopters actually are: X, Reddit, Hacker News, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, Indie Hackers, YouTube Shorts and TikTok, dev.to, and the newsletters that cover AI tools. You are the person in the comments, in the launch threads, and in the Discords — the recognisable face of PortModels in public.
What you will do
- Own the weekly calendar: one flagship piece a week plus a daily presence across platforms
- Produce the material yourself — posts, threads, screen recordings, short video, developer stories
- Run launches: Product Hunt, Hacker News, subreddit and Discord AMAs, and the follow-up that keeps them alive
- Build and run a community space for developers publishing on PortModels, and keep it worth being in
- Find and brief creators, newsletter writers, and small channels who reach the same people
- Instrument all of it — know which source produced which signups, and cut what does not work
- Bring what you hear in public back to the product team; you are our loudest feedback channel
What we are looking for
- You have grown an audience from near zero — your own or a product's. Send links; this is the part we care about
- You write fast, in your own voice, and in English that does not read like a press release
- You know how developer and AI communities work, and what gets a post buried for sounding like marketing
- Comfortable on camera, or at least behind a good edit
- Analytical about funnels, attribution, and what a channel is really worth
- Independent — for a while this is one person and a calendar
Part-time Intern, AI & Development
Part-time
15-20 hrs / week
Remote
Paid
Apply
For a student who is already building things with AI in their own time. Real work on a live product, around your classes, paid — not a coffee-run internship.
What you will do
- Prototype small app ideas end to end and find out fast whether they are worth building
- Test new models as they are added to the catalog and write up what they are actually good at
- Help with documentation and code examples that other developers will copy
- Reproduce bug reports and check releases before they go out
- Bring your own ideas to the app requests board — some of them will get built
What we are looking for
- Currently studying, any subject, with roughly 15-20 hours a week to give
- You can write code — JavaScript or Python is plenty to start
- You already use AI tools daily and have opinions about which ones earn their place
- Curious and self-directed; we will point at a problem, not dictate the steps
- Something you have made that you can show us, however small
